Pros Zooms in to amazing distances (i used it in a stadium and could read the seat numbers of the rows on the other side!)
The picture and video quality is good

Cons The video format is very strange (.mod)
Youtube (and many other things) wont recognize that the video is in widescreen so it looks distorted
Hard to see screen in sun
Very shakey when zoomed in

Summary This is an amazing camcorder! If it wasent for the odd format, it would be a perfect 5-star. The price is a great deal if you are looking for a decent quality camera that has a hard drive and a light. oh and I ran out of room to say that there is also a MicroSD slot on the bottom. Then this is the camcorder for you! Its great for airshows or just using it as digital binoculars, you are sure to like it. I have found though that having quick restart turned on consumes the battery quite a bit. So I would reccomend leaving it off. The pictures it takes are quite nice and its very responsive/quick to take with virtually no delay between when you hit the button (after you focus it) to when it takes a picture. Another good feature of that mode is rapid-shot. Where if you hold the button down, it will take pictures in about a ~.5 second speed... so it is possible to make a digital flipbook by using that! (lets not forget about making gifs too). All in all this is a great camcorder with a very good zoom for the price, with all the fancy feature you would think would make it cost a lot more such as a hard drive, light, drop detection... all worth it! I highly reccomend this. But if your are looking for an affordable 1080P camcorder, try the Aiptek A-HD High Definition Camcorder, it doesent have zoom but has better HD than the fliphd or similar (the flip HD only does 720P @ 30fps, whereas the Aiptek has 1080P @ 30fps (thats the standard for blu-ray) and 720P @ 60fps)
