"Not bad for a cheaper camcorder" on by DLG454

Pros: easy to use, I got mine gently used, so I got a GREAT deal on it. It's great for just everyday use, taking vids of the grandkids and such.

Cons: the buttons are annoying sometimes

Summary: i love the ability to switch from mini tapes or memory card. the start/stop button is situated in a precarious position, and I didn't find the record/off/play switch easy to maneuver. the camcorder may not have as great a pic as high end cameras, but, all-in-all it's a good camera for beginners, teens, etc. the retail isn't bad, I got mine for less than half of that gently used :)

"Overall good cheap camera" on by asonofgod

Pros: Great video quality, Fits hand easy, grat optical zoom.

Cons: Smooshed screen in 16:9. A little hard to use some options.

Summary: Overall this is a good camera. However when you use it in 16:9 ratio the screen looks smooshed, however it looks great when played back on PC or TV. Some of its features are a bit hard to find or set. It has great video quality, and great optical zoom. It's still photos that you put on a SD card are poor quality, but it isn't a still camera. It fits my hand good, which is why I chose it above a same-priced Canon which was just to tiny. Good camera, not a super-great camera. Good for family videos or you-tube though. Again, it shoots really good video.

"Not that bad for the price" on by goose1132002

Pros: lightweight, easy to see screen, smooth zoom

Cons: microphone is weak and no background noise blocker, no shot stabilizing

Summary: I found the camera fairly easy to use. I haven't played with all it's features but I'm not a pro movie maker so I probably won't ever use all of the bells & whistles. I love the HUGE optical zoom! It would be nice if it had "bluetooth" capability so I could use a remote mic. I chose this camera over Sony due to it's cost and larger optical zoom.
My main complaint about this camera is the extra battery cost! WOW to get enough battery time I'll spend more on batteries then I did on the camera.
I had a small problem with the eye piece sticking but took it back to the store, they called JVC and were told to replace my camera with a new one and to send the first one back to them-no muss, no fuss.
I've had no problems since that little issue.

"GR-D370 - no worth it" on by nik1

    Pros: It's small

    Cons: Where do I start?

Summary: I have had a horrible experience with this product. I bought it 6 months ago, and studied it for at least 2 hours. The switch seemed to be backward, and tech support confirmed it. Long short, I went on vacation, lost all my still photos, and the ones that were retained on the memory card were super fuzzy. It wasn't user friendly but I figured it out, and got unpleasant results. I sent it into the Service Center and they threw it back with a "no problems found" comment on the invoice. I got Screwed with this one. Don't buy this product, and Big Lesson: only buy electronic products at a store where you can get an extended warranty through the store. In this case the manufacturer support was cold and dismissive.
