Dull picture, otherwise good value.
Pros: All the features needed. Great feel and looks. Easy to use.
Cons: Image is flat, JUST as said before: It's like you're filming in a fog or something. There's no way one can get vivid, near natural colors by adjusting the white balance, gain, shutter, anything. I don't have much of an experience of different low-mid budj

Best Camcorder for under $500
Pros: Everything about this camcorder is good so far. You will not find a camcorder with a 1.33MP CCD for this price. I paid $430 at Sam's Club and another $30 for a 3 year warranty. Originally I was sold on camcorders that had the biggest optical and digita
Cons: I only got about 45 minutes from the included battery, but I zoomed, paused, and turned the camera on and off several times.

great value and quality
Pros: I'm a film student and I was looking for a budget camcorder and this was perfect in every way... very good video with an awesome price. i got it at $449.99 canadian at bestbuy. that's like 299.99 american i think.. can't do the math anyways.. its all good
Cons: the stills look like webcam shots..pretty bad but why would you get a camcorder to take stills?!?!? other than that at this price range you cant get any better

Very flat video
Pros: Feature rich.Sturdy built.
Cons: Video is flat, it's like shooting inside a thick fog! I have to junk it(can't return) and buy a Canon Optura. My friend has a Sony CR-19, which produced much sharper video than my JVC. I should compare before I bought this. I won't buy it if I saw the vid

Dont expect to much from these users
Pros: Great features, great video, low cost.
Cons: To the guy who dropped his camera and the screeen blew off...your an idiot, try not dropping the camera. To the guy with the comment about the stills your an idiot too, no camcorders take good stills, buy a digital camera. To senior junkyard esta muchacho

Great Entry Level Camera
Pros: 1.33MP CCD, D:WIDE MODE WHICH IS ARGUABLY PROGRESSIVE SCAN MODE IN DISGUISE, TOP NOTCH SOUND QUALITY. I ALSO OWN A CANON XL1S, NO COMPARISON BY ANY MEANS THOUGH.
Cons: STILLS LOOK TERRIBLE, INVEST IN A 3 TO 5 MP DIGITAL STILL CAMERA FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS.

For a digital camcorder, it is not the best
Pros: Good price, many features
Cons: The focus is very soft. My analog JVC camcorder takes sharper videos than this.

Do your research!
Pros: I was just about to buy Sony's tr-19 or tr-22 when I saw this camera at circuit city. Not only was it about 1$150 CHEAPER than the low end tr-19, it's specs beat out the tr-22 AND the Canon ZR70 (A consumer reports best buy) I work as a video editor(broa
Cons: CON 1- The low light level can get somewhat grainy but if you know anything about video than you will realize that it had been and always will be greedy for light. Either turn some lights up, buy an additional light, learn the iris/shutter controls or se

Not a bad machine, but don't expect too much from the stills
Pros: Takes decent videos
Cons: Even with a 1.3M Pixel camera, there is not way the image can compare with a regular digital camera with the same resolution.
