Summary: I bought my ag-dvc30 in november of 2005 and i cannot belive how much you get for the small price it has . I was considering getting a used gl2 or vx2000 but i was able to get this brand new for the price of a used gl2. Right out of the box it was perfect and i wanted to add some lenses and other optional accessories, at first i couldnt find anything for it. I kept searching for a decent fisheye but it was a 43mm thread size and i wanted to avoid step up rings in fear i would get vig , i finally broke down bought a 58mm step up ring and fisheye and to my luck no vig. Sony and Canon make lights , lenses , mics and alot of accessories for their cameras and it seems panasonic lacks in that department when it comes to this camera . All in all this camera has been very easy to use , is very professional , and is very cheap. For the quality of image you get its no wonder why this camera ranks high on cnet. I would reccomend this camera to anyone over the gl2 any day.
