Pros: Menu system, roll wheel, overall setup easy to figure out without manual. I like the zoom on the remote. Gives a digital 2:1 zoom (I think) that you can pan on as it plays back. Good for soccer games. Video quality is very good outside.
Cons: Low light is an issue. Does have very accessible buttons for light / gain boost along with back light. Need to figure out how to use these better. I think they will compensate for lower light enviroments once I figure out how to use them.

"Bang for buck. 24x zoom will spoil you."
Pros: This camera is a great buy. Controls; easy to locate, including enhanced features. You don't spend half your time searching for buttons in a pinch. Intuitive; I've used all features but havent even bothered with the reference manual yet. Wife never used
Cons: Has the light-weightedness of compact digital camcords which makes you wonder how fragile it might be. Not enough to deter a purchase tho.
