"Very good HDD camcorder DO NOT pay attention to the other review"
Pros: easy hdd access to your movies thru the computer
Cons: the still picture quality is not good
Summary: the camera does what is supposed to do: record your videos in the hdd and transfer them into your computer.
For the previous person who reviewed this camcorder: you do not need the actual software that the camera brings, you can just drag and drop your .mod files into your system. Use "sdcopy" to transform into .mpg files and keep the wide screen aspect. Second if you need to edit you can convert your .mpg files to .avi with "super" from erightsoft...and them import to programs like premiere pro of final cut.
I hope this helps, also the playback quality is fine.

This is a great camera. You can record up to 7hours of high quality video without ever having to buy a tape or dvd... For the price this is excellent. The only drawback is the software that imports the video... If you use this camera and don't care about serious editing then your fine and you can just save to disk or burn a dvd, but if you want to use Premiere or Microsoft Movie maker you'll need something like 'SUPER' from eRightSoft to convert the High quality MPG format into some other format like WMV or AVI...
