Cons Record button is way too close to the battery and is very difficult to press. Every time I swap batteries I have to go back and reset all the settings such as XP mode and Digital zoom.
Summary What good is a X70 zoom if the video quality is junk? The High quality (XP mode) resolution is only 704 x 480. My $100.00 Canon 8mp camera does better quality video than the Panasonic SDR-H80 does...What a joke! I keep reading reviews that say it works great in low light but in my experience that is extremely false. This camera is no better than the early digital cameras from the late 90's.
No flash/light/infrared except for what your environment provides.
The lens protective cover is manually operated and the lever is located in a hard to get to area.
To transfer data to the PC from the hard drive you must remove the battery and hook up two cables (power and usb) and then turn the camera on and select PC/Connect from the thumbstick next to the screen.
The software is junk and hard to navigate. Very basic dvd menu creation and hardly any options to choose from. Windows Vista has a better DVD burner built right into Windows.
Advertised youtube functionality...Haha, all it does is limit your video clip to 10 minutes. Who transfers video to youtube without editing it first?
This digital camcorder is not worth $100.00 let alone $400.00 or $499.00 with extra battery, tripod, and case.
I really thought this was going to be a camera I could use and went all out to buy the full package with 4 year warranty and all but now I regret even looking at it. Not only that but Best Buy is going to charge me a 15% restocking fee since I took it out of the box. Triple Whammy! -

Cons Almost any vibration sets off a warning message that stops the HDD (Hard Disk Drive), while on the car, motorcycle or sometimes even walking sets off the warning message and you loose everything you recorded until then.
Summary The whole point of buying a video camera is to document moving objects. If you cannot move while filming why do you need a camera? Takes about 3 minutes until the camera resets itself, meanwhile your subject already walked away.

on by pokemoncatdogPros This is a Very good Camera, I loved using it. Good Video for SD and the zoom and 60gb hdd were good selling points for this camera. Oh and being 50% off at best buy is why I got this camera.
Cons HDD is READ ONLY with connected to the pc. Not good, can not double as mass-storage device, like I wanted. Also not even a moth and the cam. will not come on. It was not the battery, as the cam. would not come on with the AC adapter as will.
Summary Is this camera TOO good for the price? It my be. Came on, only one moth after buying and the camera has gone bad. What gives? At lest panasonic was nice and are now repairing my camera, but I had to pay the $10 shipping fee. This is the first camera I have used form panasonic and I have use other panasonic products it the past with no problems. I will keep using and buy other panasonic products but not there cameras. The last video camera I had was an HDD JVC, it was I good camera for being about 6 years old and I only got this one because I dropped the JVC on a rook.

on by wongzPros this camera have lots of features i like the I.A best intelligent AUTO fully auto it make things easier for me dun even have to read instruction manual . 70x zoom is excellent with the O.I.S stable much better then any camcorders
Cons their is nothing i dun really like... only they comes with a very basic software........well everything seems to work fine i can say problem free..
Summary i bought this camera at Singapore Mustafa Center is a 24hrs shopping center at basement 2 i dun really know what to buy at first but the salesman name called SHAWN intro this model to me ... i love Him dude .. he guide me all the way .. the I.A he would first explain then follow on with the zoom and stabilizer step by step i get to know a lot of things from him ..well of course price wise definitely worth it ...with the free gift i no need to spend a single cent to buy accessorize ... 60GB 27 hours of recording more then enough ... so guys out there if u thinking to buy one get this model ... BEST budget and trouble free camera and if u going to Singapore find this guy Shawn from mustafa center B2..highly recommend.. cheers :)
