  • "a hell of a steal"
    on by mjcinmt

Pros 10x optical zoom lens, decent recording quality, easy to use, and extremely portable

Cons The battery fully charged lasts about 45 minutes max.

Summary I got this at Best Buy in Missoula, Montana last week. Was not planning on purchasing anything, and they had this on for a steal.... it was an open box item that someone had returned, mind you-- but for $169.99, it couldn't be beat. The salesclerk was nice enough to open up the box and let me look through it before I made my decision... it looked as if the first person who bought it took it home and just opened the box without opening any of the other pouches or anything in there. Everything was still sealed inside it's own little individual thing, so then I decided to go ahead and get it. Was planning on getting a flip mino, but they don't carry those at the local best buy, and with a 10x optical zoom (compared to digital zoom only on the Flip Mino), I am very happy with my purchase.

Pros Super compact, easy to use, relatively inexpensive, decent video quality when viewed on TV.

Cons Very short battery life, not so great editing software, slow to adjust to different light conditions.

Summary Compared to other SD camcorders, the SDR-S7 is not bad but could be a lot better if the battery life and video quality was improved. For me, this is a good camcorder to learn the basics of shooting video without having to spend a small fortune.

  • "It does what it says and is easy to learn. It is a great value and the video quality is excellent."

Pros fast load time from off to on, easy capture and review, cooperates with the computer easily, video quality looks great on tv, includes software

Cons still pictures aren't as good as the video quality

Summary I recommend this for home video and for you tube but not for full-time professional use.

  • "Every thing as promised."

    Pros Compact; easy to use.

Cons Battery needs to be charged often reducing your shooting. ebay gets you two batteries for nominal cost of Rs.1000/-

Summary I like du to its simple operations.

  • "Under 250.00 GREAT"
    on by holeshot0014

Pros I go to a lot of Wood Shows and it has come in very handy. Just set it up and take the videoand the voice is pretty fair.

Cons Battery leaves a lot to be desired about 45 minutes is all you are going to get. Buying an extra battery is a horror show no pne that sells the camera sell battries. I had to order from a place called Batter Plus and that took over a week

Summary Other wise use it for what it was designed for. NOt your kids graduating class or big sporting events.Small events it is great.
