"Save Your Money -"
Pros: Leica Lens, 3CCD
Cons: DVD RAM / Price
Summary: If you like the convenience of DVD, buy this camera. The same quality video as Mini DV only gives you 20 minutes of video on a Mini DVD though, so I went with the PV-GS300 which has the same lens, the same chips, weighs a bit less and shoots on the ever versatile and considerably more affordable Mini DV Tape.
True, you have to transfer it to other media in real time, but you remember you're buying a camera to watch video you shoot right? If you're going to watch it anyway, you may as well save yourself $200 and go with the GS300, or the 500 if you want the bigger 1.4 chips for even better quality.

I can't tell you how bummed I am...
I did tons of research and selected this camera..
One of our critical factors was low light...
As soon as the camera arrived we shot some viceo around the house. The video in automatic mode was way to dark and the colors did not seem to match what we were shooting. We then shot the same scene with a friends 4 year old JVC mini DV camera. The JVC beat the Panasonic hands down.
We will be returning the camera and all of the extras we bought for it. I can't see how this is advertised as a 1 lux camera.
Our boys are very disappointed as are we that we must return it. Also the 10% restocking fee makes this at least a $66 mistake. Lets hope amazon takes back the accessories....
