Cons: Is it a phone or a camera? Samsung provides an adapter mount mount (sic) to compensate for the built-in mount which orients the camera to capture videos on their side.
The fixed lens is always exposed, there is no protective cap.
The covers on the memoSummary: Samsung is so close on this one. My suggestions? Orient the camera like a camera, no mount adapters. Improve the automatic light sensitivity to adjust properly. Make the camera zoom capable on the HD setting. Move the capture buttons to the side of the camera away from the menu controls. Put real hinges on the AV and memory covers. Always: removeable back-up batteries which can be charged ahead of time. Add a lens cover.
I like Samsung, I really like the video when I turn my laptop sideways; it is the best video quality I have seen on a video camera. I like the images that come out clear and when my subject doesn't move out of the frame after I press the shutter. I can make the Samsung HMX-U10 work for my purposes if I constantly remember all the finicky quirks Samsung engineered into it.
