"For the price it is a great buy" on by xmirage2kx

Pros: Great zoom, Steady image, 16:9 and 4:3, Light, size, PRICE.

Cons: Only so-so in dark rooms, poor menus, no SD card, Lens cap.

Summary: this is a good buy overall, but I would still like to see some features. I wish there was a memory card for the camera option. Without it this features is worthless. You have 2 options for recording: Easy-Q or Normal. In normal mode you have to flip through menu after menu to do the most basic thing (light changes, Focus toggles, etc), so making changes while recording is all but impossible. In Easy mode it will adjust to the "best" image (often incorrect) but you can't even access the menus while in easy mode. For home videos this camera is great, but it does lack the quality of $500 camcorders. The lens cap is manually removed and that gets annoying, but is not a deal breaker. You can buy this for $150-200 and you have to take that into account. for the price you are getting a great little camera. If you are picky then you need to spend $500+

"I wanted a camera to shoot YouTube videos with." on by IndeedVajay

Pros: The zoom is great, the quality as well, but not if it is uploaded to YouTube. It plays crystal-clear through the A/V cable.

Cons: The tape makes whirring sounds when it is turned on, and the quality on YouTube is unacceptable, check my videos at YouTube under the username Hect0rLag0. If you don't care about quality, it this is a great camera.

Summary: I am looking at Sanyo's Xacti CG10 (for the same price as this and it shoots 720p HD) to start a new YouTube account, IndeedVajay because I was extremely unhappy with this camera's quality. If you watch one of my YouTube videos, you will find black lines on the bottom and on the side. Also, the tape sometimes skips and I lose milliseconds of the video, which is a complete drag to rewind the tape and overwrite it. It also sucks to import the video to the computer, first, because it imports through FireWire, which not every computer has, and is has NO SD CARD SLOT, which takes a long time to import because you have to rewind it, and play it back to import it. I rated it ***/2 because I rated in general, not regarding YouTube or anything like that. If you don't mind any of the problems I had, this is a perfect camera. Also, before I bought this, I watched reviews of it and no one mentioned anything I experienced so I find this good to know.

"You get what you pay for" on by COSPlay

Pros: Decent microphone, small, easy to use, good menu options,

Cons: Video quality is washed out, does not pickup colors properly, No external Mic port, No USB port, Tape gets loaded from the BOTTOM of the camera, Battery life is HORRIBLE.

Summary: Bought this hoping the focusing on it could pan in on small text and have the text come in clearly. That works great. My two big concerns are a poor battery life and washed out video. For instance, if I were to point the camera at something that is red, it would look somewhat like a faded red-orange. Not very impressive. The battery life is also horrendous. It just doesn't last as long as it should. I still use this, but rarely.

"Great Camera for price." on by agumentas

Pros: It is cheap and easy to use. The battery has a long life with relatively little charge time. It has an impressive zoom and built in light for dark recording.

Cons: This camera does seem to be missing some features like the usb connection port. It also has no ability to add titles to what you are recording. If they can give you negative or mirror effects why not titles. Does anyone use those aforementioned ones?

Summary: This is a great camera for beginners or making family movies. If your into something more serious I would hope your price range is considerably larger and you wouldn't be considering purchasing anything like this. That's not to say its not a good camera, you just aren't going to be filming hollywood quality movies. The image is clear and the built in stabalizer is pretty nice. I have a toddler in my house who like to play with electronics, not that I'm giving him the camera, when he gets his hands on it the thing takes his abuse. I will admit he doesn't have it for long with out a desperate yell from me, but what I'm trying to say is its pretty durable. The flip out screen on it is wide screen and you can adjust that to standard if you want, but its very clear and sharp. Overall if I had to buy this camera again I would, unless I had a little bit more money then I would buy one with a usb connection.
