"Very good except not working for Mac very well"
Pros: Small, light, easy to use, cheap, super-zoom,
Cons: average video quality, video file not working on Mac - just sound but no image
Summary: Just bought this 2 days ago in Hong Kong at around HKD2,000 (around USD 260).
The model MX10 is the cheapest - so no built in memory. So, I bought a 4GB Transcend high speed SD card. Worked well.
The video quality is good enough for me. Everything about this cam is very good for me. The only 2 things I'd love improve:
1. I played back the movie on TV, I found that for those shootings that I "panned" around to get a panoramic feel, these shootings cluttered. To solve it, I need to pan slowly.
2. It generates AVI file. I could put it into my Macbook easily but my Quicktime could play sound but no image. I'm struggling on this.

When you say download the proper Codex from the Samsung Website, what one did you download? I only see one option and that is for a Win2000/XP/Vista OS.

Same problem here. Had to download the proper Codex from Samsung's website. Afterwards it worked fine.

Try installing "Flip4Mac" (which is free). This will allow you to open most AVI formats in QuickTime natively without any problems, at which time you can also re-save as MPEG or MOV provided you have QT Pro.

I have the same issue on Mac Mini with 10.5, Quicktime Pro and iMovie. In QuickTime I get sound, no video. iMovie won't recognize the .avi as a movie file to import. What settings made the MacBook work? Nice camera, but the lack of Mac support is frustrating.
