"Its called entry level for a reason..."
2.5 starson by Fraze11Pros: Fairly inexpensive, light weight, uses cheap SDHC memory, good batter life.
Cons: Poor video quality, frustrating settings, did I mention poor video quality?
Summary: I'll sum this review up in 2 simple ways; who this camera is for, and who it isn't for. If you are someone looking to shoot quick, fast youtube type videos of a cat playing with a ball of string or your friend falling off his bike, then this camcorder would serve that purpose very well. If you are looking to capture memorable videos with better than average quality that are meaningful and you want to preserve and watch for many years to come then I would definately pass here. Samsung has basically taken 10 year old technology and thrown it into a "new package" and added a few "features" that frankly shouldn't be called features. I bought this to replace a 10 year old SD video camera that shot 15fps VGA movies. Call me crazy but I thought video technology had improved in 10 years ... and it has, Samsung simply didn't put any of it in this camcorder. Like many I was lured in by the cheap price but like I said above, they re-gifted a 10 year old gift. I returned this camera after 2 days, I really tried to give it an honest shot but the video quality was that poor. I've seen better video from my BlackBerry's video camera. The only thing it had going for it was the zoom, it was pretty decent. But thats it. I bought this on sale for $160 (Canadian) and its no where near worth it. I'm not a disgruntled Samsung guy, I have TWO Samsung TV's and love them. All I'm saying is you'll be dissapointed if you buy this camcorder. Save your money and get an entry level HD Camcorder, you'll be very glad you did.
