  • "Worth every penny"
    on by moisesc

Pros Very easy to use. The menu is user friendly. The video quality is fantastic!

Cons The ONLT con -- the video format is MPEG4 which can't be played with media video players like Windows Media or WinAmp. However, VLC player does work (dowenbc [above] needs to upgrade his VLC player). Download VLC player from http://www.videolan.org.

Summary The Sony Bloggie is worth every penny. If you're a user who needs a format other than MPEG4, you can download the free video converter that is ad free from -- http://www.pazera-software.com/products/mp4-to-avi-converter/.

If you do download the video converter I listed, make sure to select AVI as the ouput format AND under VIDEO OPTIONS, click on the drop down and select H.264/MPEG-4 AVC as the VIDEO CODEC so that you keep the phenomenol video quality Sony offers.

If you're one of those users that prefers to see a video on how to make those selections on the video converter application, I can make a video and post it on YouTube. Feel free to email me and depending on the amount of reponses I will make a video and send you the link to the youtube video: moises_1@comcast.net

  • "Good video--clicky audio"
    on by ux201a

Pros Easy to operate, make videos and still pictures. Fairly good low light capability.

Cons The audio has a constant clicking and ruins the video. Sony tech support says it is a defective microphone---hmm, I wonder about that. The memory is not removable. The video cannot be viewed on PC with most software in Windows.

Summary I will return to Sam's Club, have had it one week and will think strongly between trying another Bloggie or a different unit. I would keep it and get 3rd party software for the video if it were not for the cracking audio, that is not acceptable at all. It seems to be very well made and fits into the hand quite nicely.

  • "Don't waste your money"
    on by belosi

    Pros great if it worked

    Cons slow focus, poor quality

Summary about 6 months old, very low usage and now doesn't even turn on.

  • "So disappointed...this is crap"
    on by murielmcd

Pros Nice quality still pictures and video.

Cons Can't see the picture in the viewfinder in a brightly lit area. The slightest movement makes for very jittery video. When you shoot from far the auto focus goes wild. I get better quality on my iphone.

Summary I've been using Sony camcorders for 20 years. I never thought that Sony could produce such crap.

  • "Do NOT buy!"
    on by ester329

Pros Excellent quality when taking photos and videos.

Cons camera button is really sticky. We only use to take photos of artwork and videotape our kids and now it won't even charge or turn on. Lost all the images and videos. Sony won't rectify the problem, it's not even 4 months old.

Summary I like the the HD and touch part. But to have it stop working on us in about 4 months, is so frustrating. Lost all the images and Sony won't fix the problem. I have read several reviews that they are having the same problem about the Bloggie not turning on.
Sony really needs to step up and fix this issue.
