"Best prosumer, by far -- even over new Canon" on
Pros: No 24p or HD, but everything else. Gorgeous colors and definition. Ready for pro productions, but best used in manual by experts for quality work. This image is so fine that you won't want your iris, gain and shutter speed "pumping" on auto. If you ca
Cons: Quality is so high that a tripod is required to not look cheesy.

"This camera is a Workhorse" on by Fejjarific
Pros: Ballanced Audio inputs, Size, quality
Cons: Iris control, Audio control, input location, provided mic
Summary: Much better than the vx2100 in terms of audio. vx2100 has one option. On camera or pluged in. Too bad you cannot use both like the pd170. I have had a problem with the provided mic. I think I have narrowed it down to it does not provide a usable audio level untill 1 hour of use.

"CAN IT REALLY BEAT THE PANASONIC 100A?" on
Pros: It has very good low light capabilities and also better color than any other camera in its class. The price is reasonable and hey, its sony quality!
Cons: Lens is not nearly as good as the panasonic. The manual zoom has flaws and no 24P or 30P capability.

"Run and Gun cam" on
Pros: Low light king, build quality, color rendering, fast auto focus, and quality viewfinder.
Cons: Only shoots 15p and 60i, has that "live at five" look(video), front heavy, lens of average quality, and not much changed overall from the 150. If you do weddings or live events this camera is a no brainer. Much better than the GL2 for run and gun work.
