"Great cost/benefit!" on by ppucci
Pros: Easy handling, light weight
Cons: Slow auto focus, touchscreen manual focus
Summary: I got one of this camera for Christmas and I loved it. It is very easy to operate, but as any Sony cam it underperforms in dark conditions. Has nightshot, which is preety cool for a entry-level cam. You sould not expect it to take good stills, as it takes only VGA-res stills. However, if you are looking for still shots, you should buy a digital camera instead. I recommend it!

"Underachiever, Buy Hybrid DVD/HD" on by Caveman123
Pros: Light weight, DVD
Cons: Low light horrible, Still shot horrible, picture shaky on high zoom
Summary: The 30 min DVDs are too short of recording time. It can't burn double sided DVDs to extend the recording time. It boast about a long zoom range however when you do zoom long distances you need a tripod to stabalize the camera or the picture will come out shakey. As expected, the still shots are less than acceptable. The 5.1 megapixel claim is a joke. It cannot compair to a 5.1 meg still camera. Be careful where you purchase your camera. Circuit City tried to stick me with a 15% restock fee when I returned the camera. The camera performed less than sales clerk's claims and wasn't as compateble with Mac as stated. I held my ground and told the Manager that neither the sales clerk nor the cashier mentioned the fee prior to purchase. Printing the policy on the back of the sales receipt and expecting that as notice of said policy was unacceptable. Also the sign stating the policy is in the back of the store away from the register. In the end I got a full refund. I will never return to Circuit City nor anyone else that refunds only store credit or charges restock fees.
