"Pretty Good Value for the Price" on by andics

Pros: Much better than Canon dc210

Cons: A bit on the Heavy side compared to the Canon

Summary: I bought a Canon dc210 first, it being $50 Canadian cheaper than the Sony. After almost two weeks I exchanged it for the Sony. The Canon has good quality videos but you have to manually tweak the settings to get it, I Always set the Sony to Auto and has had pretty good videos from it. In response to the first reviewer, you can never expect a camcorder to record Good Still Pictures just as you can't expect a Digital camera to record Good Videos. Also, No Image Stabilization can steady a camcorder at 40x. You have to accept the fact that this camcorder is the cheapest Sony DVD Camcorder yet it shames the Canon in the quality of it's Videos and Features.

"great midline cam." on by quality4me

Pros: leading night vision, quality feel, price.

Cons: no hard drive, eye shroud, focus

Summary: A great cam for the price. The focus seems to take more time to then even some previous models(2-3 seconds for high detail deciphering). The night vision is equal to a higher end personal camcorder. Only relying on the touch screen can be annoying but the interface is very simple to use. It has a very sturdy feel without being to heavy. Also cheaper than the previous model, by about 50 bucks. Good job sony!

    "Super Camcorder" on by cammbuff

    Pros: Cheap, light, nice touchscreen

    Cons: no windscreen on mic

Summary: Very happy with this camcorder. For under 400 bucks, there is really no room for complaining. Sony, put a windscreen on mic and you got a perfect camcorder.

"Elegant, Confortable and powerfull" on by jesusfamiglietti

Pros: Easy to use, great performance, amazing optical zoom. Night shot.

Cons: Low quality capturing photos (640x480) Not recomended for this

Summary: May be it's the best camera in this sector. So easy to use, reading instructions is imposible to make something wrong. Video Quality is great, you can choose between 4:3 or 16:9 (Wide screen) so, yo can adjust to your requeriments. There are so many accesories to do great advances: Lens, coverts to use under water, batteries and many more. Always with Sony quality.

"About to return it to Best Buy" on by lindaad1

Pros: Zoom Lens, light-weight, easy to use

Cons: Terrible still photos, horrible in low-light room- colors inaccurate

Summary: This camcorder is not what I expected of Sony. The still-shots were absolutely horrible. If you don't use it in a bright room or outdoors, the picture is terrible, colors totally inaccurate.
