Pros: Great video qualtiy. It plays back excellent on the tv. Some people are complaining about having to finalize the disc before playing it on the tv, but the process is so easy I don't understand why they would. The 3.5 inch display is worth the extra money.
Cons: The pc software sucks bad. The 30 min. record time is not the best. I've read that there is 60 min. dvd's but I haven't seen one yet.

"Tape is the way to go for Video."
Pros: Ease of playback, in theory though because of the nature of burning technology discs need to be closed in order to playback on your DVD deck. This causes you to either waste space or eliminates the advantage of DVD playback. Stick with MiniDV people.
Cons: Disc must be closed in order to playback on your DVD deck. Each disc has a shorter than average (tape) capacity. Expensive. Bulky. Why Sony? Why?

Pros: great camcorder for the amateur. easy to use and a delight for my needs.

Pros: The new media of DVD is not only better but a whole lot faster as well. Your basic features come with your high-end Sony camcorder. If you had a previous Sony camcorder model (VHS, Hi-8, D8, DV, or even MicroMV) you are definately going to love this mod
Cons: The software (as with all sony products) sucks! There is not online service center as of yet so I am not very happy about that. Would have been nice to have an additional i-link, just in case :)

Pros: Easy to use. No whir or vibration as I was led to expect by other reviewers. My wife can use it and she can barely turn on the tv
Cons: Sony needs to make more support available as this is a beginners dream, film it then pop it in the ol' DVD player (hopefully Sony will upgrade the finalization process to make it easy).
