    "Stay away from DCR-DVD200"

    on December 3, 2003

    Pros: DVD format

Cons: ImageMixer for PC editing. If you plan on editing movies on your PC with the DCR-DVD200, stay away from DCR-DVD200. I was so fustrated trying to download and edit movies on my PC that I have considered breaking the camcorder before returning it to BestBuy

    "Great entry-level camcorder !"

    on November 27, 2003

Pros: - Price is good, compared to a comparable Sony midi-DV camcorder, for a quality almost as good - Large 3.5" screen is bright enought for outdoors, and the 180 degrees swivel is great to watch yourself while recording ! - Convenience of ready-to-play DVD -

Cons: - A little bulky, definitely not a pocket-size camcorder. If you want one, get a miniDV model instead! - Sound quality is ok, but you can hear a humming noise in the background, probably due to the DVD spinning. Might be worth it to use an external microp

    "good product;good video quality"

    on November 24, 2003

Pros: Easy to use. Good video quality produced. Love the idea of just popping it in my DVD player and see instant results.

Cons: I cannot find the 60 minute DVD anywhere. It looks like its in Europe but not in the states so can only record for thirty minutes in standard play mode. Hopefully the 60 minute disc will come out soon.

"I just brought it today! 03Oct28"

    on October 28, 2003

Pros: I used several DV from Sony before. My last DV was PC110. This DCR-DVD300 should produce quality that match DV. Video produced are about 5-6mbps VBR! (When in HQ mode) Not bad. Very sharp when viewed on TV. The built of the cam is solid, made mostly of Ma

Cons: This being one of the first models using small DVD-RW. I walked around Hong Kong today, and I could not find any small sized DVD-RW (Only managed to find DVD-R). But I guess that should not be a problem later on. As for reliablity, I am having major probl

    "Great Camcorder!!"

    on October 21, 2003

Pros: Easy to use. After reading other reviews on the on similiar camcorders (without DVD format) thought noise would be a problem. But thesound quality is terrific. The picture quality is also first-rate.

Cons: Length of CD's-- only half an hour in standard mode.
