"Fantastic picture quality; solid construction"
Pros: Image quality is superb!
Cons: Touch screen controls.
Summary: I needed a camera that could take quality video when scuba diving (using an underwater camera housing that I purchased special for this video camera). With the 3 CCDs, picture quality is spectacular. Even in low-light conditions in deep water, the camera performed well without lights. I've made several underwater DVDs, and have had numerous compliments on the professional quality of the video. If I could see it with my eyes even in the murkiest water, I knew the camera would deliver a useable picture. I've seen complaints about the weight, but I get a good feel from the solid construction of the camera, a hallmark of Sony products. I'm not crazy about the touch-screen controls on the LCD view panel, mainly because the mechanical controls on my dive housing can't switch them on/off. They seem a little less professional, as well, but for videos I take on dry land, the controls work fine. I needed a camera that would deliver superb video under a broad range of conditions, including under water, and this camera fulfilled my unique requirements. A 3-CCD camera in a small package.
