    "Wonderful camcorder,"

by seahorsieus on November 28, 2007

Pros: small, easy to use, good price

Cons: hmmmmmm, I dont know. Give me a while on that one.

Summary: I bought my Sony camcorder on Ebay. It didn't come with the line in to the TV, or computer, it did come with the battery, charging cables, manual and lens cap ( never get a camera without a lens cap. ) The auction didn't include the software.
The A/V cables are not RCA, and run about 20.00. This camcorder uses firewire, which I didn't know when I bought it, ( the cable itself runs anywhere from 5 to 10 dollars, ). I didn't know that one of my laptops has a firewire connection, so I spent about 30.00 at Fry's for the adapter, and cables. I could have got them for less on Ebay, but, I wanted to use the camcorder.
When I bid on the camcorder, I thought that it was a mini DVD, I had no knowlage of what mini DV was. After my crash course, I found myself overly pleased with this camcorder.
I was worried about being able to find the cassets, so I took the camcorder into Wolfe Camera here in Austin. I have to give their employees a great review also, they realy know their stuff. I found that Sony cassets are a little more expensive, than say, JVC, Panasonic or some of the other brands, but, are, once again, a higher quality.
The camera size and placement of buttons is pretty good also. (However, some of the outlets are very well hidden.) If someone has various bone problems in their hands, and wants to use a camcorder, this would be a great camcorder for them. It is small, light, and very portable. ( or if someone has small hands, like myself. ) I have found that with the right case, I can take this camera almost anywhere. I found that Sony even makes a casing for underwater shots!
If one were to pay full price for this camcorder, they would be getting a great deal.
