"The best for my use (traveling/casual purpose)"
Pros: Superb video quality. Built-in lens cover, Wide screen lcd, 24P frame rate (looks good on my hdtv), "Ipod" build-quality.
Cons: Fair video quality in low light condition, Docking station (have to bring docking to have full I/O features) No firewire built-in the camera (requires docking),
Summary: Note: This is a non-pro camera. Do not expect full manual control, full-option kind of camera while still maintaining this compact size.
Traveling is easy with this camcorder, no more losing lens cover, no more heavy camera bags, no more hanging your huge camera on your neck. This thing is small, it fits in my pocket and still be able to run to catch my bus... =)
I find pc1000 built-quality is better than pc350, no more squicking sound. Also fits better on my hands AND my 10 other friend's hands =)
Image quality is really good. Nice color and resolution. Things start to decline as soon as you enter a darker room/area.
Wide screen lcd proof to be really helpfull in composition. I do not have any problem with lcd brightness during sunny day at all.
I love the manual control scroll rather than focus ring. It is easy to operate only with 1 finger while both hands holding the camera.
If you are in the market of small compact hi-end camera for traveling, please take pc100 a look. You'll love it!

Hi, your review is very helpful. I own a vx2000 very happy with video quality less happy with audio but what is important for me with the 1000 is manual exposure and size. There are many shooting situations where the vx2000 is just too prosumer and makes people uncomfortable. Can you address manual focus?
Thanks in advance.
