Sony Handycam DCR-SR100

Pros: Big LCD screen, 5.1 recording, massive disk space, quick transfers

Cons: Lots of noise in low-lights, built-in mic picks up hard drive sounds

Summary: I bought this camera about a month ago and i figured spending $1000CAN on a camcorder should bring me an amazing consumer level camera. Since I have never owned a video camera before, I will say that this camera exceeded my expectations on nearly all levels. But there is one major problem I have noticed: when recording in very quiet situations the sounds of the camera's hard drive and even the zoom lens can be heard on the recordings!! This is very frustrating!! I have tried two different Sony HDD cameras and they seem to be plagued with this problem. Perhaps my settings are incorrect on the sound settings? If anyone else has this problem, please let me know, or how I can fix this! Thanks.
Overall, a great camera though.
