Cons: included software useless
Summary: I love this camera but the included software from Pixela is nearly useless. After 6 weeks I found a solution to converting format to useful form. Go to http://www.eo-video.com/ and download the free trial. My workaround is to use EO Video to convert the native, unfriendly format to an AVI file. From there, I can convert it to a wmv format and others. This is a great camera, but how can a company as large as Sony ship this $1,000 camera without software capable of converting it to useful formats? I wasted 6 weeks finding a work-around.

I found your comment since I have the same problem using the MPEG2 files generated by my Sony DCR-SR40; I cannot import them in any video editing software and I tried many conversion tools with no luck.<br>I tried the EO Video converter but it doesn't work on my files; during the conversion it shows the video and after reports an error "Can't read frame."<br>I get the same result with all the captured MPEG2 files while the converter works fine with other video files.<br>Which options do you use?
