Sony Handycam DCR-SR100

Pros: Harddisk Drive, Compact Size

Cons: Poor Low light shooting quality, Software not good for editing

Summary: I am a proud owner of SONY DCR SR-100. I used it in various conditions like Good lighting, low light, humid, day light etc., I find this camcorder to be really good one in terms of Video and Still picture quality (3Mega pixel).

Every Camcorder has some limitations. So does SR100. My review is incomplete with out a mention about limitations with this camcorder.

Low Light Conditions: I agree with some of the users about the poor quality of video recording under low lighting conditions. An additional video lamp could come to our rescue in such conditions.

Additional Battery: I suggest not buying any additional battery other than INFOLITHIUM by Sony. Usually, sellers try to push the generic batteries which might work with other Sony camcorder models but not with SR100.

Standard Software: Software provided with standard pack is of no or little use except for direct burning of DVDs without editing. You may want to consider good editing software if you prefer to have a memorable video on your DVD.

I did not find any other major limitations with SR100 other than the ones that I discussed about. I recommend this camcorder to my friends.
