"Length of movies the only drawback"
Pros: High definition
Cons: Length of movies too short
Summary: The camera in comparison to others is great!
i'd rate it 7.5, but since I can not do so, I give it 8, since I like this camera so much [
]
Pros:
1. High Definition
2. Easy operation, I have not gone beyond the first few pages of the manual yet, and I am understanding easily how to use every single other feature.
3. It writes on DVD's, means I only carry DVD's to my friends, when I show them stuff i have shot, I do not have to waste time writing the same data to the computer, and then to a DVD seperately
Cons:
1. Writing in HD means you can shoot only 15 minutes in a mode called HQ+, which is seriously the BEST ! The HD-LP(Long Period) mode writes only 30 min on a DVD, which is actually a joke ! (But I can live with that since DVD's dont take up much space, if I have to carry extra DVD's)... BUT do take this into consideration if you plan on ordering this camera.
2. The camera does not come with even one DVD in the box, so i had to go to out just to buy a couple after it was shipped to me. So I suggest you order a bunch of DVD-RW's while ordering this camera. Amazon.com had the best prices for DVD-RW's.
3. Everytime you need to used the DVD, its not as simple as taking out the camcorder and putting it into the DVD drive of the computer; you need to finalize it everytime, and the time for finalizing is inversly proportional to the amount of time you have recorded. Also, when finalizing, it is suggested that the handycam be kept very stable. These things have not been a problem for me so-far, but it is sorta annoying.
4. Sony accessories are toooo freakin expensive !
