"Over Hyped Camcorder"

3.5" LCD screenCons: Interpolated to the max. About double its true pixel count.
Low 16Mbs bit rate at its highest quality setting, not enough.Other brands are up to 24Mbs now.Summary: The Sony's are still at 16Mbs while brands such as JVC are now up to 24Mbs. Bit rate is as important as the processing. The higher bit rates are needed for fast moving scenes and when details are needed.
Too expensive
Sony claims 12MP capabilities ??? What with a 6.6MP sensor. How does that work. Interpolated to the MAX. (The pixels are artificially created). This happened to the previous model HSR-SR12 as well and I found the picture quality to be poor.
Interested to see how this new Exmor sensor perfoms when it is reviewed.

Yap! A Sony hater.

1/2 star? Obviously, you're just a Sony hater. You "found the picture quality to be poor" on the SR-12? So, all those reviews (from professionals, mind you) revering the picture quality must have been wrong. That includes the one from CNET stating that the SR-11 and SR-12 camcorders "deliver top-notch performance and image quality."
I notice you put this exact same review on the XR-500V site. Understand that no one will take you seriously with childish behavior like this.
