"Great Camera-Great quality for the pocket money spent!"

    by bondn21 on July 2, 2009

Pros: I use to have a JVC 110u for double the money of the Sony 1000u but the Sony to me is running neck & neck with more expensive cameras.I added a JuicedLinked xlr adapter and "boom" this camera is just right.Picture quality is great easy to manuver!

Cons: No xlr's but add a xlr adapter like juicedlink or beachtec you will be ok. I bet next year or two Sony will add xlr's and jack up the price on this camera-just wait!!

Summary: This is a sleeper camera-what I mean by this is that not alot of profesionals or even prosumers will believe what a good camera this is-Sony really did a good job-and for the price-well you can't beat it! People will complain one chip no xlr's but if you are creative and no what to do in post production you can make a beautiful picture with this camera.I compared many cameras in this price range and a little more expensive ones too; iI compared picture quality because I already had my audio situation under control(xlr adapter box). If you are comparing video cameras do like I did, search the internet for video clips of all the cameras that is on your list.Pick out the best two or three- to help narrow or make it easier to decide. Make sure your editing software is compatible(real important)see how the camera will relate to what your projects will consist of. Don't forget your budget-if you do decide on a camera and it comes-it's not to your liking thirty days goes by-no refund you will always take a loss when you try and resell-trust me I know-so take your time(be anal about the decision) and let these things help you in making the right choice. There will be people out there who will dislike the camera you may want or there are people who will love the camera. It all boils down to what makes you happy, but do your homework first! Every product has its Pros and cons what matters is what can you handle when the product arrives on your door step?

How can I "see how the camera will relate to what your projects will consist of? how is it in low to no light conditions? I need an hd cam to do short films...do you think this might work?
