    "Great Deal"

by drumfish on August 23, 2005

    Pros: Features, Size, Widescreen

    Cons: Night Mode, Recording Time

Summary: So far I have had very few problems with this camcorder, its done what I expected it to do. The night mode is slow and the shutter speed makes the picture look bad.
I have read reviews about this camcorder some make me feel unsafe about it, but then its just a review.

It took me about half an hour to figure out most of the camcorders features.
It was a bit hard to understand how the tape input worked.

I hope I get many years outta this camcorder, and well be very displeased if it starts to fail after one year of canon support. As I find most Sony Products do to me.

I would at this time Recommend this camcorder

It's smaller than the old fashioned dinosaur of a camcorder we have stuffed away in a drawer, so carrying it is a simple task. So far, I have very good video of indoor and outdoor activity. The color is great and the sound is too. I have incorporated my still digital media with video from this MiniCam and then used my PC to add transitions, some music, titles and credits and now I have some pretty good looking videos to give and send to family members. I love using the zoom, because I am disabled and not always able to be right where the action is, and even though I am zooming in from a good distance away, I still got all the action, plus the sound was intact because the speaker at such events usually are using microphones. My son also purchased one, as he believes that any equipment I approve of must be okay. I only wish that I'd thought to purchase a camera that could also serve as a digital camera. Then I wouldn't have to tote two cameras along with me when I attend special functions. Anyway, I am satisfied, and I believe I got a very good piece of equipment for the money I paid. Also, very easy to operate.
