Pros spell check first! This is a fine camera. The picture quality is outstanding. The image quality for even large pictures is excellent. Lots of features. Easy to use.
Cons The camera is large and the 3 fps is quite slow for shooting any action. It's expensive.
Pros Customization of the one series is what makes the difference for me. custom function's with multiple custom presets. 45 cross point auto fucus sensors with virtually instant focus. 35mm frame with wonderful color, hue and overall image quality.
Cons extremely heavy, fairly old at this point in time. requires a fair deal of self education to be able to use to it's potential. 3 frames per second with a 10 frame buffer is the biggest drawback of this camera.
Summary besides my 1 series, I have a 5d mark 1, a 7d and a 60d. all the cameras i own have their own specific benefits, but nothing hold's it's weight to either my original 1d, nor 1ds. with an L Lens the camera is dust resistant, water resistant, drop resistant and continues to work pic after pic. my 5d's shutter blew out which is why i picked up my 1ds, im much happier with my 1ds than i ever was with my 5d mark 1. the 7d i picked up for video and the 60d i picked up for video shots longer than 10 minutes, and as a secondary for video. whenever im doing still's by far the quality, work flow and ease of use of my 1 series cant be beat. it's not about flash, it's about dependability, quality and shooting without crutches because you know what shot's you want before you take them.
Pros Image quality Reliability Canon brand EOS lenses Built like a tank
Cons Price Weight a factor
Pros Acurate color, sharp images, amazing blowups. I've blow crops up to 50+ inches. I'll put it up against any MF.
Cons Cost is high, but you get what you pay for.
Pros Built like a tank, image quality that rivals mediun format, takes my Canon EF lenses (this alone makes the camera FAR cheaper than most others) and it LOOKS like a pro camera, not a glorified MP3 player. The 35MM format makes judging lenses easier too. I'
Cons Somewhat heavy (though no worse than a 35MM film camera), slow FPS speed, price.
