"Taking it back to Best Buy." on
Pros: The Canon name is most always a plus. This camera does what it's supposed to do--except I've had bad luck.
Cons: Little pixel spots on many pictures with lots of sky. This is the second 20D I've had. I thought the spots problem was an isolated thing, but the replacement camera has the same problem. Four well defined little dark spots--always in the same place. I

"20D can't be appreciated by point and shoot products" on by ebgirl
Pros: A camera I have grown to love
Cons: ask the pros, many owning at least one 20D
Summary: My first DSLR, I was worried it was too much for me, but its no more difficult to learn than a good P&S, if anybody is wondering that.
I now have acquired 5 lenses, and after getting to know them also, mastered their best attributes. And they aren't even L lenses. I absolutely recommend this camera to anyone wanting a step up above the P&S world. Its fabulous in low light and the choices are unlimited in your needs for a camera. Grow with it. Don't waste your money on a point and shoot.
To be truthful, I never thought I'd own a canon, always loving the Sony cameras, but this one stands out beyond my expectations! -
"4000+ shots and I could not be happier!" on by STIMULi
Pros: Easy to use and understand. Great ergonomics. Plenty of accessories!
Cons: Came from the factory with a dirty sensor. Could use a better designed and stronger flash.
Summary: There will always be a better camera.
Right now it is the 5D. The 5D sells for $3400. How much better is the 5D? Is it that much better? This camera reaches the top of the plateau. Once you start using this camera you will find that it is doing everything possible towards making a great photograph except putting you in the situation and composing the shot for you. Check out http://www.usefilm.com and do a search on photgraphs using the 20D and see for yourself.
With the availability of the variuos lenses and accessories unless you are planning on shooting High-Res billboards you can do it with this camera. If the price drops I will buy another as a back-up or so I can set it up for another lens type.
This camera allows me to shoot like a pro! -
"You need to know what your doing!" on by dani85
Pros: battery life, resolution, gripable, controls are VERY easy, have dropped it, still in perfect working order! quick battery recharge time, love the auto off feature,my new best friend! :) thanks CANON!
Cons: flash not too great (I use Speedlite 580EX). With my EFS 17-85mm lens it casts a shadow. 18-55mm lens it was fine.
Summary: Well I purchased my first EOS 20D about 4months back. I then returned it and got instead of the 18-55mm lens got the EFS 17-85mm lens. Im VERY happy with this camera, its photo quality is stunning. One thing I do want to mention, you need to know what your doing. This camera takes beautiful photos in low lighting, bright conditions, fast moving subjects, you name it! I'd strongly recommend this product over other brands I've seen. The navigation is very easy to use and easily accessible, only a little memorization required. I take sessions of about 3-400 photos and only during the last 50 do I notice its weight. what else is to say... I use the SPEEDLITE 580EX flash, an awesome addition if you are in low lighting environments or to play with lighting angles. For top of the line pro photographers I'd say to go with the EOS-1D Mark II N Its the "holy grail" of digital cameras as I see it. I didnt have the budget to get that but a few years down the line I'll have it, or its replacement. I invested another $140 into the product to purchase a Pelican Protector 1400 Case, I'd strongly recommend it for those who take photography in the wild or travel a lot, or just generally want to make sure thier investment is well protected. These cases are indestructible & are water proof. I actually had my camera in the sealed case fall out of a boat, boy was I glad it was in the case. Be sure to purchase a PeliLock, just in case your case takes an extreme beating... If you are sceptic about the EOS 20D after all I've told you I'd be glad to show you some sample photos I've taken with mine. Here is a website I keep my photos up on, yes they are taken with a 20D.

This sight could not handle the high resolution of my photos so it compressed them so you can notice chunks in the dark shaded areas. Take care all of you photographers and happy shooting!

"This one will grow with you" on by grumpygolfer
Pros: Reliable, Durable, Capable and Versatile Get One!
Cons: because nothing is perfect, the shutter is a bit noisy
Summary: I graduated from a Point and shoot to this, I researched extensively before this purchase and I am so glad I settled on the 20D. As your skill levels increase this camera will keep you busy. It took great pictures right out of the box on full Auto, as I learned more about the camera I was truly amazed at its capabilities. Now most everything I shoot is in manual mode. I am learning something new everyday, both about the camera and the joy of photography. Beginners and Pros alike should find this truly a keeper.
