"Excellent usability, an excellent digital SLR value." on by wfairley
Pros: Quality, price, performance, and reliability in every dimension summarizes this camera; it is fast, feels great in my hands, and the controls are intuitive for Canon EOS enthusiasts. Photo quality=10.
Cons: I would like to see the wireless speedlite control built into the body like the Nikon D70s, but otherwise, this camera is hard to criticize, quality or otherwise.
Summary: By far the best Canon I have ever owned, the EOS 30D significantly improves upon the 20D (I have one of those also). The picture quality, speed, processing, even the sound is better when you shoot an image. Quality fit and finish is on par with Canon EOS products; this camera feels great in my grasp, like I could shoot the view hanging from a rope from a hot-air balloon, never worrying about losing my grip or missing the image. The dials, buttons, and displays are intuitive to me now, after using a 20D for more than a year in the field - I shot well over 10,000 photos with my 20D, across the country (USA). With this camera, I have no less confidence in my ability to capture and publish the images I discover and enjoy.
Kudos to Canon, now make it a little less expensive, ok?

"20D Improved & cheaper & Lori's been kidnapped!!!" on by Light Trapper
Pros: best image quality, low noise & dynamic range
Cons: lower resolution than nikon d200
Summary: It has a 2.5 inch LCD not 1.8
and shutter durability is rated at 100,000 cycles and not 10,000.
I was wondering how Lori could have screwed this up so bad and came up with these ideas:
1. Her work computer account was hijacked
2. She was kidnappped and forced to by a Nikon sales rep despondent about the banding problem with the D200 (accidental corduroy texture in some photos).
3. She owns stock in Nikon & needs the money
4. She got a fake press release from a Nikon fan & didn't know the difference
5. She sent the review from Torino and it got garbled in translation over France
6. Lori's really a 5th grader in Manhattan & her father owns CNET
