Canon EOS 10.1-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera, Black

Pros: This camera is rock solid. I"ve used it for 3 years, and have taken over 10,000 pictures so far, and the thing hasn't had a single issue at all.
The color accuracy is beautiful, and the mechanical speed for high-speed photography is wonderful.
If you want

Cons: Some users will find it a bit heavy, but I personally LOVE the heavy, solid feel of it.
Would loved if it had a standard release-cable screw-in on the shutter button like the old Canon's had.

Summary: Overall this camera is of solid build, and provides many features to keep the average (and some above average) photographers happy.

While it might not have a full frame sensor like the Pro models, it provides enough features and options to allow even a professional photographer to do what they need to do.

It's fast, and accurate, and while it does not feature video recording, it DOES offer a higher FPS than the newer cameras such as the T1i / T2i, etc.

Also, this camera body is nice and solid, while the newer bodies feel very fragile. Just in my opinion though! :)

I forgot to mention, the kit lens , the 28-135mm IS USM, is not exactly the best lens. While it IS a decent carry-around lens, you will find that the results are not very sharp. In fact, just forget trying to get SHARP results on anything that is further away than say 15-20 feet and you will be disappointed. The lens does offer image stabilization, and an ultrasonic motor for fast focusing, but it simply is not a sharp lens. When taking landscape photographs, nearly all trees and plants out beyond about 20 feet will be "blurry" around the edges. You can't avoid it.

If you want an accurate lens, buy a different lens! For the average user that is snapping pictures of cars and family members and babies, this will be just fine.

For the nature photographer who is looking for a little better results, or people that are more picky about their results (like me) I'd look at getting a better lens to carry with you! This lens will just leave you upset!
