"Best SLR for the money"
Pros: Digic III image processor, LiveView, better build & ergonomics, fast
Cons: a 2nd status display would be helpful
Summary: I just purchased my XSi after 6 month of waiting for it. Before I was using Sony Alpha A200, and had a glance at Nikon d80. After playing around with my new XSi and having over 1000 shutter activations in the first 3 days I have to say that this is the best camera for the money! Paid $899 at Circuit City for the kit, which is approximately $200 more than you would pay for the XTi. This is a major upgrade, since for $200 more you get a much-much-much!!! better processor in Digic III. I have no need for 2 extra megapixels since 10 is already enough. LiveView is finally here on the Rebel series! The only down-side I have is my preference towards the 17-85 lens that doesn't come standard with XSi (it comes with 18-55mm). Otherwise - great build quality, excellent battery life, awesome pictures. Not sure why editors gave it a 7, since this camera is as close to Nikon d80 and canon 40d as they get. It totally outperformes Sony Alpha a700! Good buy that will serve a lifetime!
