    "It's okay..." on by sophia1149424

    Pros: Pretty good settings overall

Cons: Takes WAY TOO LONG to take a picture, zoom is bad, pictures start getting worse after a year

Summary: I've had this camera for about 2 years now and at first when I got it the pictures were okay but then they started getting worse. The shutter speed is so slow so when you are trying to take a picture, it takes FOREVER! If there is a once in a lifetime moement, when you try to take the picture it is gone already. I love the continuous shots they are really fast. Movie mode can only hold 3 minutes. If you want to take a quick picture, don't get this camera.

"Great Camera, Horrible Battery Life" on

Pros: My first digital. Great pic's and easy to use

Cons: I've found that the batteries don't last long. New batteries every 20 or so pic's are very expensive. Just bought recharagable pack.....we'll see how those go.

"Not worth the money" on by mikeydiiorio

Pros: well-built, lots of features, above average quality images

Cons: Shutter Speed is extremely slow, The camera as a whole seems to be asleep

Summary: I have had this camera for about 1 and a half years. After the first 3 months, I was sick of it. The camera does not do well in low-lit environements, nor does it seem to be awake, when taking pictures.

It has lots of features, but in my opinion
if it dosen't take a picture for 40 seconds (give or take), whats the point of having all the features?

This camera, is a slow, but well built camera.
Save your money and go for a Nikon.

"Good Beginner Camera" on by Sephiro12

Pros: Easy to use, takes good looking pictures.

Cons: Sometimes has EXTREME shutter lag, shaking is a problem, very very short battery life (when using LCD), hard to find some settings like white balance, etc.

Summary: I bought this camera about 3 months ago, and while it's a good camera (especially for beginners), it has some flaws.

Like I said, shutter lag can be up to a second and a half which is extremely annoying at times.

Shaking happens fairly easily, pictures will come out blurred if this happens.

The first day I got this camera, I went through 6 batteries. However, I realized that this is because of the LCD. So basically, if you want your batteries to last at all, don't use the screen for taking pictures. I would like it if I could use the screen, but using the viewfinder is actually okay.

I'm sure if I looked it up in the manual (which I plan to do someday), I'd find it quickly, but some settings aren't as straightforward as they should be.

Other than obscure settings and slow shutter time, it is easy to use, just open it up, focus and shoot. The pictures (at the 2048x1536 and Superfine quality) are very nice looking.

The software it comes with has a lot of features that are surprisingly nice, one that I wouldn't expect is RemoteCapture which uses your computer to take a picture while the camera is hooked up. The only thing I wish for this is that the screen image would show on your monitor so you could pose without guessing.

If you are looking for a camera with exceptional video recording, this camera is not for you; there is a lot of noise from your hands and the camera moving around, and the size and quality aren't great.

Also, though it's not a big deal, if I were buying a new camera I would try to get one with an SD or XD memory card because CompactFlash cards are ironically the biggest of them all.

Also, if this camera is still available at RefurbDepot.com, you should buy it from there because I only spent $109 compared to twice as much at other stores. Plus, the only sign that it was refurbished was the gold sticker on the bottom, no scratches or anything.

Overall, if you want a basic beginner camera that takes good pictures and isn't too pricy, this camera is for you.
