  • "IT JUST TAKES GOOD PICTURES"
    on by COWBELL

Pros EASY TO USE, VERY GOOD BATTERY LIFE, PICTURES ARE TRUE TO COLOUR,

Cons LCD SCREEN IS NOT THE GREATEST,(BUT NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE), IT WILL NOT SHOW YOU HOW GOOD YOUR PICTURES REALLY ARE.

Summary I HAVE THE RED CAMERA(LOOKS NICE), 1 TO 2 sec BETWEEN SHOTS, (WITH FLASH ON 3 TO 6 sec), AND START UP TIME IS 1.6 TO 2 sec...(THIS CAMERA DOES NOT HAVE IMAGE STABILZERTION). I USE A 2gig SAN DISK ULTRA II OR III THAT GIVES YOU ABOUT 750 PICTURES, I USE 2 AA ENERGIZER LITHIUM BATTERYS (OR 2650 mAH RECHARGABLES) AND CAN GET ABOUT 600 TO 650 PICTURES.

  • "Treated it well but lens mechanism doesn't work well."
    on by ac160126

    Pros Convenient. Good quality photos.

Cons Have owned it for less than 12 months. It goes right into a case after I use it. About three months ago, the lens mechanism stopped working correctly. There's a grating sound and something inside the lens mechanism doesn't work properly.

Summary Disappointed at the mechanical defect. Otherwise it's a nice camera. I won't buy this model again and I'll stay away from Canon for now.

  • "Fast? Fast? Fast? You Can?t Go Wrong With This Camera!"
    on by ekrouse

Pros Ultra Fast Shutter. Takes the picture when I want it to. Clear, crisp images. Bright screen. Uses regular AA batteries.

Cons Haven't found any cons yet

Summary FAST, FAST, FAST... What a great Camera! I was frustrated by my 2 year old Olympus point & shoot camera. Every time I would press the shutter button, the camera would delay up to 1 second before taking the picture. By then the smile was gone; the ball was kicked; the candles were blown out; the moment was missed. To get anything had to anticipate the shot and click the shutter before the right moment hoping that all the right elements came together at just the right time. I missed so many great shots over the last couple of years.

This time before I bought I tested each camera in the store. The only camera that took a picture when I wanted it to was the Canon SureShot A480. It doesn?t matter if the photo uses the flash or not, it is instantaneous. The screen is bright. The images are crisp? and it uses 2 regular AA batteries so I can carry extras or buy them from a local store even when traveling. You can?t go wrong with this camera.

  • "good pictures...TERRIBLE lens mechanism"
    on by mvaughn24

Pros small and easy for my students grades kinder to 5th to use and pictures are decent

Cons The lens mechanism breaks without use! We bought 24 of this model and all 24 have been shipped back to Canon for repairs at our cost. Each camera has had this deficiency at different times. After 1 year we are still sending them to be repaired.

Summary Don't spend your money on this camera because it will cost you more in the long run to continually send it back to be repaired!

  • "Very easy to operate basic point and shoot camera."
    on by jackylimaiksiang

Pros A good back up camera for the price. Simple to use.

Cons A bit slow and grainy taken indoor.

Summary For the price i pay, i cant complain much. Very solid built. Very handy and easy to use. I only need to keep an extra AA battery during shooting which is more than enought. This camera perform well outdoor and quite grainy indoor. A good buy.
