"First digicam, no complaints"
Pros: great design, sensible menus, dead on accurate autofocus
Cons: image stabalizer would help at 16x, continuous mode could be just a bit slow for some
Summary: I just got my camera today and I haven't been able to put it down. I'll start with the design, everything is in the right place. There is nothing 'amateur' about the grip or the function wheel, the shutter release responds nicely. Not only does the flip out lcd give great flexability but the optical viewfinder is very functional as well. Even the power button is conveniently located on top of the camera.
At first I was considering an A95 until I saw this camera. The A610 has a lot of improvements. It's smaller and lighter than the A95 so it's slightly easier to pocket. Also, you CAN take video up to memory capacity, a big improvement.
The manual features really allow you to compose your shots quickly and just how you want them. The autofocus is truly superb. And oh yes, the pictures are gorgeous too.
I could go on but you get the idea. The cons above are quite negligable. I've seen some complaints about the USB cover but if you put it on flush, it stays put. Overall this is a really, really great camera.

Hi,
I am very mush interested in buying this camera but i read from the specs that u can have only 60 sec to 180 seconds of movie only, whereas my current Nokia camera allows me to shoot movie to memory capacity. In ur review, u have mentioned that Canon A610 can also shoot movies till memory capacity. Can u plz confirm this. Thanks in advance for an early response.
