"Wow-Point & Shoot OR Creative controls!!" on by ragtag

Pros: LOTS of features, settings, etc.

Cons: I've found NONE so far

Summary: For just over $200 I can't believe the quality! I used to have a film SLR (the classic Pentax K1000) and was thinking I'd like to step up to a dSLR, but on a whim I bought this. I've owned and\or played with several digital cameras...this one is loads of fun, with really top quality pics. Everyone I've shown it to is awed.

"Great camera with tons of features for the money" on by hofgrad01

Pros: Excellent image quality; reliable metering; ability to shoot fully manual; excellent battery life; price

Cons: Must open the battery cover to gain access to memory card

Summary: This is an excellent camera that has so many shooting options and the fact that the A630 has a 4x optical zoom with no IS should not be considered a "con". This camera offers many ways to take sharp photos at the long end of the zoom or in low light conditions without the need for IS.

Overall, a great camera that will deliver great pics.

"For the price..."THIS IS A GREAT CAMERA!!"" on by macro001

Pros: Small, Point & Shoot with Powerful manual over rides!

    Cons: It's not a 35mm with a system of 100 interchangable lenses

Summary: This is my second Canon camera. My first one four years ago, was 2 megapixels. Great little camera. In my mind the Powershot A630 is it's bigger brother.

I just spent this last weekend putting it thru it's paces and it's done real well for speed and flexability. The settings other than Auto are intuitive and easy to catch on to.

With some dedication to the camera, getting used to the system layout and feel of this camera, I think the average day shooter will advance in their photography skills.

There are so many things I like about this camera but the bottom line is... I got a lot of bang for my buck!

Remember tho, it's not a 35mm with a whole system of interchangable lenses. This is well packed pocket camera.

Canon, is a big name and a name that has been around for a long time. With the two cameras that I have of theirs, I really like how they think things out & lay things out.

Great camera! Great Price! Get one and go have some fun! How can you go wrong for the price.

    "Great Camera" on by venrajin

Pros: Excellent Features, Auto Image Rotation,

Cons: Comes with Just 16MB SD Card

Summary: This is a great camera which has whole lot of features. The Auto rotation and Wide Screen Piture are my favourite. When you take a picture vertically and shift the camera horizontaly, the picture automatically shifts - It senses the camera movement. Also the Menu controls are very cool , gives a very Slick functionality ... Got a Good size LCD .
