"Excellent performer, advanced features, best of all worlds"
Pros: 10 megapixel in small package, large 2.5" swing-out screen, lots of manual settings if desired, great looking bezel, easily replaced AA batteries in a pinch
Cons: A little on the heavy side with a set of extra batteries (takes 4), no IS
Summary: Picked up this beauty to replace my old A80, the first model in this line from a few years back. Although the camera has been slicked up and slimmed down since then (bigger screen, thinner body, faster start-up), it still has the best package for the price at this level. I compared to other Canon models and came up with the following... SD series is too small for my hands and doesn't have enough manual settings, A710 IS is nice but doesn't feel as professional, S4 IS to too bulky, G7 is too expensive. This model fits my grip perfectly and performs flawlessly, with quick startup time and flash recycle, and intuitive controls. Beginning users would even enjoy this using the Auto mode and can learn about extra settings in spare time. HIGHLY recommended!
