""Almost" a point & shoot .." on
Pros: Everything about this thing is great! ..you'll also love it. Browsed the net for about 2 weeks & bought it. & I'm a winner! Canon has it all. Included alkalines lasted for about 110 shots with flash & LCD on. Use 2300 mAh NiMH for supreme perf
Cons: If you are looking for a camera where you can point at something & "click" to get a quality picture..this might be not the one. Auto mode is not good for indoor lighting situations. Using the P mode, you'll have to change the EVF sometimes to get the

"do some simple manuals and your set" on by Scopip
Pros: sharp image, manuals, endless battery life, AA, compact flash, good ergo
Cons: full automatic mode not as good as semi-automatic, worrysome zoom switch
Summary: love this camera. this 3 megapixel hits the sweet spot. a 512mb card will hold over 500 pictures. all of which you can take with just the 4 AA batteries.
manual controls are awsome. i don't trust the automatic though. i mainly set the camera to iso 100 and manually control the flash. For some reason, the camera really struggles with auto-iso settings and flash.
once set, pictures look superb.
I also love the size. Many of the cameras are so small, they hard to hold still, or very easy to drop.
I mainly wish the camera was lighter. almost all of the wieght from batteries. The a510 looks to solve the problem. but then again, i never have to worry about batteries with the a75. -
"All and more than I expected!!!" on by wrenchit
Pros: As a newbie to the digital world of digital photography I am happy with my purchase of this camera. It has not taken one bad photo yet, even though I am stll learning all the functions.
Cons: Using the flash with the optional lenses , the lens adapter blocks out some light in a corner of the picture but using alternative light corrects this
Summary: I would highly reccomend this camera to those that are new to the digital world, also the software is easily understood, and the automatic download funtion is great! Thumbs up Canon!!!

"Excellent value and pictures" on by minipin
Pros: Very clear pictures, 3.0X optical zoom
Cons: Slow between shots with flash
Summary: I have been very happy with this camera. The only time I have a problem with it is that it's kind of slow between shots when you're using the flash. Otherwise, awesome camera - much better pictures than most I see posted with not extremely expensive cameras. Great close-ups, great detail - I love it.

"Excellent camera for guys like me who never print photos" on by tudopatroi
Pros: fast and accurate autofocus, good battery life, very good low light sensitivity
Cons: the AVI movie format eats about 25-30MB for the max time allowed of 30 sec per video clip
Summary: I was looking for a good camera that will not eat up all my budget. I tried several 3Mpix cameras including Olypus and Nikon and decided for Canon A75. With this camera I got over 90% of good photos in Auto mode + lots of manual control. Buy a 512MB card + a set of 2300mAh NI-MH rechargable batteries and you are good to go for about 200 photos hi-rez with lots of flash and LCS use. I never print pictures so the 3M pixel resolution is more than enough for PC display.
