Pros picture quality is great, especially got it for close-up macros of small items, and low light detail; it delivers quite well.
Cons editor has a horrible useless unnecessary little 1-inch thing called a "navigator" that floats on and obstructs the image while editing-- can't get rid of it! editor only does one function at a time, many clicks and frame changes to edit one photo>:(
Summary I recommend NOT using auto settings, and NOT using its own software photo editor but use a different one. Other than that, this little canon elph 100 camera takes good low-light and finer detail photos and macro closeups for things like, selling online. Certainly beats my other cameras (an olympus stylus 600 and an older kodak easyshare), for good picture quality and detail.
As with most digital cameras nowadays, you do have to study the entire instruction manual provided in pdf or pamphlet, first.
Also, the camera does NOT have any internal memory so you do have to use a card, SD or another type, and you do have to charge the battery first which takes over an hour. A memory card was NOT provided in the basic camera package, but the battery and charger were included.
I did not like the auto shooting setting, because the focus seemed to pick out too many odd inappropriate things to focus on. So I recommend manual shooting settings, which there are plenty to choose from.
Pros Image Quality
Cons Video speed
Summary Good candidate for Basic use
