Canon G-series. They scratch their own lenses.
I love this camera. Lots of pro-level control, small enough to carry with me always. I agree with the many people who rank this one highly. That's why I bought it.
Except for the fatal flaw, noted below.
The lens cover blades scratch the lens. Incredible, but true. I compare with every G10, G11, and G12 owner I meet, and scratches such as mine are common.
Canon won't acknowledge this, it appears.
I like the camera for somany reasons. But if Canon won't fix this, it's not worth owning. -
I had the same problem with the G11. An awful pity for such an otherwise great camera. The lens eventually jammed on mine and wasn't worth the cost of repair. I was hoping the G12 wouldn't have the same problem! Too bad....
