"Nice camera, but no leaps and bounds!!!"
on by IvanNavarroPros Good quality
Semi pro features
Good focusingCons Read these below. A camera with lack of punch!
Summary Camera lacks many features that you can find on other cameras for half the price.
Canon doesn't know how to make a big leap to show that they still can make cameras good enough to retain their status on the market. With so much competition their G1X and even their "M" mirrorless with so many bugs, you'd think they'd want you to buy the competitors brand.
Lacking are: 1) No GPS, 2) No WIFI, 3)No tilt screen, 4)Viewer is limited in view and no data inside like most DSLR's, 5)ISO good but not above 1600, 6)Macro is so, so..my TG-1 from Olympus blows this camera in this area. 7)No remote control..small feature that was available on the G5, 8)No full frame, 9)No bulb feature, 10)RGB only,no adobe1998 RGB, 11)Battery life so, so, 12)Can't recharge battery with aux battery pack, 13)Video mode 1080p "24"=??? are you kidding me???, 14)No touch screen, 15)Spare battery 25% cost of camera, very expensive!!! 16)No aux mic...with 1080p24 no wonder!!!, 17)Battery compartment to close to trpod mount, cannot access if battery needs changing, 18)Same modes then the G9, even my cell photo can do more artistic photo shots, 19)Servo motor is very noisy. 20) Not weather proof, 21)Many control buttons could be added behind display screen if it came with tilt screen feature, liberating space. 22)12Megpixs, honestly???, at least brin it up to a 16 bit!. Buy next year if, and when the G16 comes ut, I'll be saying "why didn't I return this camera".
