Pros: I've had Canon... Good Cameras.
Cons: Probably the price point and optical zoom range.
Summary: My opinion: The (Panasonic DMC-LZ1 4MP) and the (Panasonic DMC-LZ2 5MP) stomp the Canon SD300 & Canon SD400. The optical 'stabalized' zoom of 6x on the Panasonic is a killer selling point along with the competive pricing of $200 for the 4MP and $250 for the 5MP. Most BLURRY pictures come out because of 'fine' hand shaking. Only a rare share of people can hold a shot still as stone. You'd be surprised how well a picture can look with 'image stabalization'... That's why the Canon S1 3MP sells for so much. Seriously... Think about. Panasonics FZ serious is awesome... So for them to toss the works into a snap shooter is an awesome package. If you're worried about size... I'd even consider the PENTAX S5i... That's a sharp Camera as well.
Don't get me wrong... I've owned the guru 7MP by Canon... I liked it... But really didn't need a 7MP compared to a 5MP... They're so close really. I do digital imaging dc-designz.com but unless I'm trying to zoom in on the smallest part of a picture (ring, teeth, eyes, freckles, moles etc).. the 5MP does JUST FINE... especially for the 'everyday snap shooter'. Trust me. Canon's good... Others are just as good & better!
