"The Best Digital Compact Camera to Date" on by daz3dpanda
Pros: Terrific Image Quality, 2.5" LCD Screen, Compact
Cons: No Raw, Flimsy Digital out Cover, Optical View Snugged
Summary: I have been doing some research for the past couple months on which digital camera to buy. I’m just an 18yr old student with limited budget but this camera seemed to be a Must Buy, and it was. The image quality is extraordinary compared to other compact digital cameras. My main focus was trying to find a camera that would capture the truest colors and best images in low lighting situations. While other cameras ex. Casio, Kodak, etc also had great quality in outdoors, they were incomparable to the Powershot SD series indoors.
There are some Negative qualities about this camera though. In the past the SD400 had many problems with the LCD cracking. about 30% of all the buyers had this problem. I read about it many times, but this next generation; the SD450. Canon claims to have reinforced the screen, but just to be on the safe side I bought TAP warranty along with the camera.
What I can't seem to ignore is the flimsy flap that covers the AA/OUT Digital outlet. Even though I just purchased a 1Gig SD card so I would not have to upload often, it still feels so feeble. It is a small plastic joint which you have to bend at first to unlatch it. At times it feels like it's going to snap off at any moment. I’m very confused why canon would use something so cheaply. -
"Great point and shoot camera" on by dat1asiandude
Pros: Small and compact; Beautiful 2.5 inch screen; record movie clips
Cons: Flash could of been better for dark places
Summary: This is a great digital camera. Before I came to my decision on picking this camera I was comparing the Nikon S1, Sony T7, and the Canon SD450, and I ended up buying the Canon SD450. The camera gives you a nice and big LCD screen on the back to view your photos and menu settings. It also gives you the ability to record video, which I havn't really used often because the video quality wasn't that great, but my little brother and sister loves playing with the movie mode. The camera also gives you a included 16mb sd card, but with that small memory youc an only take about 5 pictures on the highest setting, So I recommend that you get the 512mb or the 1gb sd card. Overall this is a great camera for beginners and anyone who's trying to find a simple point and shoot camera, I've taken only about 40 pictures on my sd450, and I've printed them all out and they all look great. I can't wait till Valentine's day so I could take more beautiful pictures with this camera.

"Compact Camera with Good Image Quality" on by grokinla
Pros: Compact enough to fit in a pocket
Cons: Image Quality is not stellar
Summary: The image quality vs size tradeoff is quite acceptable. Sufficient number of manual controls. Image quality at 5MP is not as sharp as I would have thought.
