"GREAT CAMERA FOR THE MONEY! ," on by coldasicelax3
Pros: Big 2.5' lcd, great sharp pictures, small and compact
Cons: no usb dock/charger, ok flash at night, 16mb sd card
Summary: this is an amazing overall camera. i looked at the sony T7, canon sd550, and nikon coolpix s1; the canon cost about the same as the S1 and is cheaper than the sd550 and T7. the sony t7 has horrible shooting in dark light. the sd550 is a great camera but its an sd450 with 7 megapixel...unless youre printing bigger than 8.5x11..5 megapixes is more than enough. this camera is compact. i would recommend a 512-1gb sd card because the 16mb only stores 6 pictures on the best shooting mode.

"Never with out it!" on by ScoutDad
Pros: Small and Fast
Cons: No battery indicator until it's almost dead
Summary: I love my Sony F717 but I always had to think about whether I wanted to lug it around. Smaller than my cell phone, my SD400 (the only difference is a smaller LCD screen) slips right into my pocket and I’m never without it. It turns on instantly and has given me the opportunity to take photos I might not have otherwise had. The battery last forever and I can carry spare because it’s only about 1 X 1.5 inches and only ¼ inch think. Combined with a 1 gig card and you’ll never miss a photo opportunity. Settings are very intuitive and it’s a snap to make prints with my Canon photo printer. The only down side is, I’ve scratch the heck out of the LCD screen. A stronger flash would be nice, but I wouldn’t want to sacrifice size.

"Great compact camera, but beware of easily breakable viewfinder" on by swwebb
Pros: Fast, compact camera
Cons: LCD breaks easily, battery does not indicate level until nearly empty
Summary: I love this camera. I've owned The SD300, and SD400 and finally this one. My only problem with this line of elphs is that the LCD is fragile and prone to breaking if you are not careful. I would suggest purchasing a hard case for it.

"Powerful, Handy, Fits in my pocket" on by mrengaswamy
Pros: Small size, great picture quality
Cons: Too much plastic??
Summary: It's a great little camera. Really like using it since I upgraded from the SD200. The burst is awesome and takes pics rally fast during daytime.
Nightime shooting is a little slower, but expected from a digital camera this size. I also own a 20D and i can't tell the difference in picture quality. -
