"undeniable performance, typical of canon ;-)"

by packratako on June 5, 2007

Pros: Very quick shutter speeds, easy to learn, use and configure the settings, picture quality is excellent.

Cons: No optical view finder (not a big deal thats old now anyway), No battery bars but warns you when battery is low.

    Summary: My Opinion:
I love this camera ever since i saw it on the internet I tried to find the best deal i could. The performance of this camera overhauls that of my old 4.1MP toshiba camera that randomly stopped working.

The canon sd750 black design is very nicely done, it still has its subtle lines while the 3"LCD screen provides the outstanding picture quality and its major bling factor! Sometimes I think the picture quality on this LCD is better than that of my PC's LCD screen. =P the shutter speed and loading times are ridiculously fast. i can take pic after pic (without flash) without the camera hesitating to take a break and load the pictures into the sdcard. Keep in mind i have an old 128mb sd card that has normal loading speeds. So you can imagine a faster and newer sd cards will do even faster shoot and save speeds. There are plenty of settings to play around with and battery life is very long.

definite key features are as listed.

There were only a couple things i didnt like:
    1. there is no battery bar meter
    - It does warn you when its getting low but i recommend getting a spare battery or just to charge the battery before you go.
The nice thing about the Li-ion battery is that you dont have to wait to fully discharge just to recharge the battery because the battery has no memory, meaning charge and charge away and your battery will still last a while.

    2. I took some night pics and it didnt come out as clear (without flash) there were some white dots all over. but then again that was only at iso800 and at fine setting. I could have increased it to iso1600 and superfine setting. Also even at night i can still see what I am taking a picture of. Whereas my old camera and others I have tested, at night the canon is still better for its price. Again this is no flash, with flash the pics are phenomenal at night. And if you are a night person you can purchase an external flash that flashes up to 30 feet.

Overall: I am very happy with my camera. Lots of features for the price. check out this camera in person to test it out yourself, it is a phenomenal camera that words cant describe well. Also if you want better pics go to canon usa online and you can see better pics of how this camera looks like. Honestly when i first saw these pics on cnet i almost didnt get it. When i checked canons' site and saw it person to confirm, the camera just made me drool all the way home. =P
