"GREAT PERFORMANCE AT LOW COST" on by EIN_WESSI
Pros: The Elph fits well in the hand and takes great pictures. The color saturation is wonderful. Night time performance is oustanding. Clear and crisp pictures once you learn to use the proper settings.
Cons: The camera is a bit slow to reset after taking a flash picture.
Summary: I bought this camera for Christmas to take family photos and I am very glad I did. Up until then I always had Nikon cameras and was always disappointed with their performance. What I wanted most of all is to be able to take night time pictures that are clean and crisp. I would deffinitely recommend this camera. It is also a great little camera to take along for snapshots. I always have it on me. You never know when you might get a great shot.

I generally agree with this review. I have been disappointed with the focus on some of the shots, mostly from a distance. I do like up-close shots, and to have something handy can be a lifesaver. On the other hand, with a new cell phone, having the camera handy is not a big deal now.
I did have a bad experience, however, with dropping the camera on the garage floor and running into a lens error, that, after looking on the internet, was not able to fix myself. I had to send it in to get fixed. I sent it to camerasandparts.com and it turned out great. Cost less than a new camera, and was very convenient, and they walked me through it all to get the camera to them and back in tip top shape.
