Cons: videos are not mac-compatible.
Summary: I am so disappointed, to say the least. Here i was so psyched about my beautiful little camera, and thrilled i could finally take videos lasting as long as the memory did. I downloaded them and had no picture. I kept asking casio how to fix this and they kept sending me suggestions. finally i found a line in the manual in the website declaring that in fact one cannot play these videos on a mac, the format they use is not compatible. amazing none of these professional product reviewers warn anyone of that. now i'm stuck with a $500 camera that i can't use for video. avoid it.

This camera is great! I read the comment about the download from Casio so the video will play on Man and downloaded it. he video looks great and plays thru Quicktime.<br>Tha box says the camera's video playback is not possible on the Mac, but it does.<br><br>here is the link<br>http://world.casio.com/qv/download/en/avi/

I really don't think that it's fair that you would give the camera a rating of 1 due to your ignorance. The camera still does its job, it shouldn't be punished due to people like you failing to research the camera before purchasing it. The vast majority of the electronics market is PC users, so by being a mac user, it is your responsibility to understand that not every product out there will be compatible with your computer. So be fair and don't bring down this wonderful camera's rating because you didn't prepare before you bought it.

hey bro, I have a mac and videos play on my computer just fine. the issue is not hardware and hard wires, but simply software. I didnt even have to download anything to play these videos but obviously you do. you gave the camera 1 simply because of use error, no points for pic quailty, design, battery life or nothing. little bias when you rate the camera on hate.

I am interested in this camera and, like you, work on a Macintosh platform. I read your review and went to Casio's website to do some research. It says that the movies can be played using Microsoft Media Player 9. I went to Microsoft's website and there is a Mac version of this player available for download. I don't understand why the video would not be playable in a Mac environment. What exactly does your documentation say regarding Mac? You say that it says the video is not compatible, but according to my research it should be. I'm not being facetious. I would like to know for sure before I either buy this camera or move onto another brand/model.
