"Lens Error! Do a simple google for this camera, and you'll find the lens error problem everywhere!"on by ssvang
Pros lightweight, lots of modes, long battery life
Cons Horrible lens error, grainy photos, bad resolution, video is horrible if not daylight
Summary I bought this camera in Sept 2004, and it worked fine for the first few months. The image quality, though, has always been far from stellar. Very grainy pictures, red-eye in almost every flash photo, and just horrible when printed (and I'm talking 4 by 6). Of all the pics I've taken, I've only gotten a few decent, printable ones. After about 4 months, I suddenly got a lens error. I didn't drop it, and I didn't wet it. I talked to the Casio people about this, and they told me the lens error problem was not covered under my warranty. Wow. I talked to a few camera repair people, and they quoted over $250 to fix this problem. After all the money I spent on this this! I'd rather just invest in a more reliable camera with better image quality. This lens error problem has just been hell to deal with. So, if you're thinking about buying this camera, I'd say save yourself the trouble.
However, I have to say the battery life for this camera, and other Casios (from what I've heard), is just exceptional.
Pros Very Compact, Best Battery Life I have ever seen, Good Pic Quality
Cons Pic Quality not for a professional or very big photo enthusiast.
Summary This camera is great! I took 50+ pictures for my webshots account all with a flash and I still magically had a full battery. It's amazing. It fits easily into your jean's pocket and it not at all cumbersome or heavy. I'm a college student and it's the greatest just whipping the camera out and taking a quick pic here and there not missing any memorable moment. In my opinion this is a great buy for a novice user. I'm extremely happy with this purchase. Also, the docking bay is great, you slide the camera in then hit a button to transfer all the pictures. Go get yourself one!
Pros The view screen size is great, even though the overall size of the camera is compact. It has some nice features like "best-shot" (Best-Shot allows you to select one of the 21 scenes to automatically set up the camera for recording that type of similar ima
Cons On my camera's first event it failed miserably. When using the camera on a desert camping trip the camera stopped working. My thoughts are the light sand jammed the automatic zoom lens. Since most of my events take place outside my house I cannot depend o
Pros Credit Card Size, Shutter speed, Start-up time, Long Battery Life, Intuitive Buttons and Menus, Video With Sound, BestShot Feature
Cons Proprietary Battery
Pros small(but with large display), easy to use, long battery life
Cons none so far and I've had this camera for 2 years
Summary I love this camera. The BestShot feature is great for me because it has a setting that can be applied for almost every situation. So when you're being tourist-y its a quick change to adjust for lighting conditions. The battery life has been great on it as well. I can charge the battery once and it lasts over 2-3 day trips with constant turning on and off.
